Operations and Administration

The Department of Special Services is headed politically by the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor on Security and administratively by the Permanent Secretary (Cabinet & Special Services). Other political heads in the department include the Executive Assistant to the Executive Governor on Security and the Director General of the State Joint Security Task Force (Operation Burst). The Permanent Secretary who is the accounting officer of the department amongst others serves as the Secretary of the State Security Council.
